With a tenacious work ethic and an innate desire to be the best attorney he can be, Lucas has been providing JK clients with quality legal services since 2018. He dedicates his law practice specifically to ERISA and labor litigation; through this he’s instrumental in facilitating clients’ single-employer, alter-ego and successor liability claims, as well as withdrawal liability matters. Rounding out his suite of specialties, Lucas also works extensively in the enforcement of terms of collective bargaining agreements.
Lucas brings a wealth of experience with him to JK. While studying law at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, he served as judicial extern to the Honorable Judge Theodore J. Jarz of the Circuit Court of Will County, refining his execution of legal research and writing. He cultivated a foundational understanding of complex trust and estate disputes while clerking at a prominent trusts and estate litigation firm. Before that he served as a Certified Legal Intern at the Community Legal Clinic and excelled in his alma mater’s Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition. Lucas was also the Assistant Executive Editor of the Indiana Law Journal.
The spirit of collaboration is at the heart of Lucas’s work philosophy. He’s a devoted team player (in the office and on the soccer field), working closely with colleagues to deliver the very best service possible. Seeing hardworking men and women receive the benefits and rights they are entitled to—and that he helped to secure—is what drives Lucas every day.
